Christmas in Germany

Fun on the rides at the Nuremburg Christmas Market...

Wen Li is all bundled up so we don't get chewed out by the German Omas.

Watching her new Dance and Sing with Mei Mei DVD, wearing her tutu. Thanks Santa!

Miles was "99 Percent sure" that this present was going to be Lego Mindstorms. Old enough to apply statistical estimations to the Christmas process, young enough to be wild about Santa.

Here we are embracing the newest members of the family, Rosa the pink guinea pig, and Potty Elmo.

The many, long, tension-filled days leading up to Christmas

Going to get the tree at Mobilhof...

Note the candy cane stuck to the other mitten - a present from Santa at the tree-lighting ceremony.

Don't want to get caught napping around *this* house ...

Watching the first of many Christmas specials...

Boot Loot from St. Nicklaus...

Veggie Kids Hammin' it up!

These guys get excited everytime I get the camera out. The first time our neighbors had their laser tag guns (yeah.) out, Wen Li ran right up to the barrel with a big smile and said "Cheese!!"

This is the cropped version of our 12 month post placement report family photo.

Things we are thankful for...

1. We are all healthy and happy (except Miles is not happy about wearing a button-down)

2. Our beautiful little girl whom we flew to pick up on Thanksgiving of last year.

3. Three out of four Leavitts have smiles *and* open eyes in this picture.

4. You can barely see my white sport sock.

5. Everyone reading this blog! Love you guys!

Halloween preview

Elvis after the show, chillin' in the bathroom while hiding from fans. Show us those sideburns, baby!

Turns out Wen Li is highly allergic to both mosquitos and sidewalks.

Puss in Boots, including a re-enactment of the famous "cute kitty" scene from Shrek 2.

(The camera lense got a little foggy, it's not your eyes...)

En Francais! Or something like that.

We took a trip to Baden Baden, and Strasbourg last weekend, with a scenic drive down through the Black Forest on the German side and up the Alsace wine (and apple) road on the French side. Which sounds lovely and Euro and hip until you consider that we had two children in tow. It was more like a whirlwind of waffle stands, playgrounds, and indoor pools with some really nice scenery thrown in. But we had a great time and it was actually relaxing. We managed to see some of the wonderful spots along the way, including Riquewihr, which Rick Steves said was too touristy to bother with (we read this after the fact and think he's just a snob. The town was built in the 1500's! It's not like it was Busch Gardens or anything. Sheesh.)

Both kids smiling in the same picture!!! It's a miracle!! (First playground of the trip)
A nice view of who knows what. This is taken from the angle of the second playground of the trip.

Gratuitous wine country photos.
Buying apples and apple juice in some place that starts with a "B".

Another day at the beach

The Sand Castle Lady made a large cat in the sand, here Miles shows his "kitten" he made to go with it.

Don't worry, Aunt Sara is holding the end of the boat. And they are only 4 feet from shore.

Our little Half-Pint re-hydrating with a half-pint bottle. (Do they even say that anymore? Or is it all metric? We've been reading the Little House on the Prairie series, and I can't imagine Laura's nickname being "Half Liter".)

One of the few two-piece suit shots that didn't involve serious plumber, uh, you know.

Another boat ride with Ge Ge, this time at Funland park.
